This year marks Hauser & Wirth Hong Kong’s fifth anniversary. For Art Basel Hong Kong, we bring together an astounding group of contemporary and historical works by leading gallery artists, including Rita Ackermann, Louise Bourgeois, Mark Bradford, George Condo, Nicole Eisenman, Günther Förg, Philip Guston, Roni Horn, Mike Kelley, Takesada Matsutani, Angel Otero, Pipilotti Rist, Pat Steir and Zhang Enli, among others.

Coinciding with the fair around town, Hauser & Wirth’s gallery space presents Rashid Johnson’s first solo exhibition in Asia, ‘Nudiustertian.’ A major museum presentation of Rashid Johnson will be held at the Long Museum in Shanghai from April to July 2024.

Pipilotti Rist has created a brand-new work ‘Hand Me Your Trust.’ Commissioned by M+ and supported by Art Basel and UBS, the work will be shown on the M+ Façade.

Zhang Enli’s exhibition ‘Portrait’ is currently on view at He Art Museum in Guangdong, China, who will also present Roni Horn’s first large-scale solo exhibition in China in the summer.

Rashid Johnson is among an influential cadre of contemporary American artists. For his first solo exhibition in Asia, Johnson has created brand new works, including Bruise Paintings, Surrender Paintings and Seascape paintings, alongside his profound mosaics, continuing to work with a complex range of iconographies to explore collective and historical expressions of longing and displacement, while speaking to the times we live in.

‘Pipilotti Rist. Hand Me Your Trust’

M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District in Hong Kong, presents a brand-new work ‘Hand Me Your Trust’ by Swiss spatial video art pioneer Pipilotti Rist. Commissioned by M+ and supported by Art Basel and UBS, the work is shown on the M+ Façade daily from 7 – 9pm, 18 March – 21 May 2023 and every Saturday and Sunday from 7 – 9pm, 22 May – 17 June 2023.

‘Zhang Enli. Portrait’

‘Zhang Enli: Portrait’ presents over 50 paintings and site-specific installations of his recent work at He Art Museum, in the space of lines, the space of objects and the space of abstract figures respectively. The double-helix staircase of the museum seems to be in the artist’s two-way mirror, where the chaotic self and the world are entwined and gazing at each other, before climbing up the stairs.
